I'm Back

Ok So I havn't been blogging much lately mostly because I seem to be stalled or at least thats how it feels. I haven't really gotten much done in my knitting and I am gaining weight as of late. The last part is what fustrates me the most. I have been eatting in a healthy manner and exercising but not only am I not losing I am even gaining weight. I have to figure this out and make the changes that need to be done.

I am finally loosing weight after many years of being 'not quite right'. Three things helped me and so I'm thinking they may help you?

The first and for me the most important was deciding to be in control of what I put in my mouth! I had a brain shift and now ask myself, "would I rather eat this, or be slim?" everytime I begin to eat.

The second is having a limit to the number of calories you can eat each day (mine is 1,400). I now weigh, count and write down in a list everything I eat in a day. A real bore to begin with, but it works. Everything counts, there's no such thing as a 'free lunch'. Suddenly I'm eating low calorie healthy food and drinking water (WATER!). Not only do I feel better, my skin looks great and even better, some of the wrinkles on my face have disapeared.

The third is exercise, I have slowly built up to four hours a week, I thought it was going to kill me at the beginning, but now after six months I feel the difference and I love having muscles in my legs. I have an exercise partner and that really helps, when I don't want to go I feel bad letting her down. Try Pillates - no sweating - just serious muscle toning.

Good luck :-)

If you are eating right AND exercising, you could be gaining weight because as you exercise you could be building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. If I were you, I'd base my measuring in inches instead of pounds.
